1 month old - teat size

Hi all

My 1 month old is using the dr brown bottles for formula. She is currently drinking 7 X 120ml bottles per 24 hours, which I would like to reduce the number of bottles and increasing the amount per feed. She usually wakes for one at 3am, then again at 6-7am, and roughly every 3 hours until her last bottle at 8-9pm.

I've noticed she starts falling asleep a lot by 90ml, the stirring again 10 minutes later for more, which she never used to do. Has anyone tried going up to the size 2 teats this early? I know it doesn't recommend this until 3 months... She does dribble using the current size 1 teats, but also makes a lot of hard sucking noises every now and then, so I'm not sure whether the teat is too slow now?

Also, I was wondering if anyone has any tricks or schedules/routines for upping the bottle to 150ml and reducing the number of bottles per day.

Thanks xx

Hi, we started our now 3 year old on the size 2 teats after a couple days of him being born, we found that after the hospital bottles flow he didn't really suck well on the 1 teats. I've recently had a little girl who will be 3 weeks on Tuesday an we've done the same and she feeds much better an doesn't give up as easy as she did with the 1 teats. Xx
