Huge boobs while breastfeeding?

Does every woman experience vast breast size increase when her milk comes in? I'm expecting my first in a week's time (gulp!) and am worried that my boobs will suddenly increase to gargantuan proportions once the milk comes in. Obviously I've read all about engorgement so I do expect them to blow up a bit, but the question is once the milk has come in and the initial engorgement has subsided, will they stay big for as long as I'm breastfeeding?

I have never had large boobs - even in pregnancy they haven't really got much bigger - and don't think I can handle months of huge knockers. I just want them back to my pre-pregnancy 32B as soon as possible - I don't even mind if they end up smaller. Just not bigger, please!!

Sorry.... it is normal for them to be bigger while you're bf, though they'll shrink gradually as your bf tails off.

HI, I think that is a very individual thing, on how muhc bigger the breasts get etc...with my first ds I went from a cup (if that) to a large D to DD....but they didn't they that large the whole time...probably reduced to a small D/almost B after a few month...
With ms and ys, Boobs did grow both times to a small d, btu by a few month was again down to a B....

Hi, everyone's different I think. I was a 32B like you and grew a little but not much till ds was born... when my milk came in I went up to 32E (had myself measured properly). 6 months on (still bf) they are more like DD. Have to say they don't seem big anymore to me but perhaps I've just got used to them.

I've been a 36DD since before my first pg. I'm now bf #3 and I'm only in a 36E, although now the initial engorgement has settled I think a DD would be fine. Like you, I never got any bigger when I was pg and the only noticeable difference has been in the first week after my milk comes in.

I went from a C to an F. My boobs were bigger than my baby's head! Good luck!! DS now 7 months, have stopped bf and back to normal, they seem really small now!

Thanks ladies - think I'd better order another nursing bra in the next size up then, just in case! Not planning to bf for very long but may as well be comfortable while I am!
