DETERMINATION - Why oats to increase milk supply?

Thanks for responding to previous post - I have tried the no-cook recipe already & the result was yummy! But just out of curiosity, why do oats help?

Um, I don't think there's a lot of science behind the oats thing. From what I've seen.

Probably just because they release energy slowly. If it works, hoummous would too.

I have no real scientific answer for this!.. but this is where i found the information and i struggled for ages after my 4th spout of Mastitis to supply enough for just dd.. then i started eating porridge and snacking on oat cakes and cookies before no time at all i was donating LOADS to the local SCBU!

I found these cookies also helped me with the weight issues too as i was over 1.5 stone less than my pre-pregnancy weight and still loosing weight!

No, it's true - it has worked for me as well. I still eat porridge every day in fact, and sometimes more than once if my supply is low due to AF or something. For whatever reason, it does work a treat when nothing else would.
