As the title says DS is really struggling with feeding at the moment Sad he will cry and squirm and pinch and refuse to latch on or if he does latch he is constantly off and on and maybe only doing 3 or 4 sucks before he comes off and I have to try and get him back on. He seems to prefer sucking his thumb or a muslin cloth!

This has been going on for about a week now and it is starting to stress me out Sad he had his injections last week and also has a runny nose but no temperature and I think his gums are bothering him too but I have been giving calpol and using teething gel on his gums and it isn't making any difference.

I have been expressing to try and keep my supply up but he will not take a bottle so I haven't been able to get any extra in him that way.

Any advice or reassurance that it is just a stage and he will be back to normal next week will be gratefully received

I could have written this! Its really upsetting isnt it op! I think maybe baby is impatient for let down, so I pump first, but can't do this for much longer.
Anyone have any advice?

My twins both went through this around 4-5 months. I think it's to do with suddenly noticing so much of what's going on around them as well and getting distracted! One of them is now fine (6 months) the other is still fussy and needs repeated attempts to latch on properly. If she's being fussy I take her into a dark room with no distractions. Good luck - I'm sure it's just a phase (like everything!)

Thank you, it's a relief that others have experienced the same, I really don't remember DD being like this maybe I have just blocked it out

Ironically he has fed a little better this evening but still nowhere near his usual self
