Baby not feeding

Help needed..... My baby is 12 weeks old and since having bronchiolitis 7 weeks ago has been really off her feeds, her weight gain is steady but nowhere near what it should be. She's taking between 2-3oz every 3 sometimes 5 hours, and really isn't interested in milk. She's otherwise happy and content and has recently started sleeping through at night (8 hours solid last night)
The drs and HV are baffled but also concerned as she takes around 15oz milk in 24 hours but should be taking double that for her weight.
I've tried to change everything from bottles, teats to a change of milk and It's not been successful.
Sorry for the long winded post but I'd appreciate any advice on this or similar story's... thanks

That must be worrying. Has the doctor checked her ears and throat to check that they're not bothering her? Has she been referred to a Paed?

So it turns out she's got a serious tongue tie which has been missed for 12 weeks :(

I'm glad you've found the cause. How was it spotted now?

SarahMarie84 · 21/12/2016 19:19

I went to our local baby cafe to see a lactation specialist who spotted it straight away, although I have been saying something's not right with her tongue for weeks and all the GP's we've seen (and we've been almost every week for the past 12) have missed it.- very very frustrating

It's very sad that GOs and HVs receive little or no training on bfing. So glad you accessed some of the specialist Bfing services available. How are you moving on from here? Are yiu getting it divided?

GPs not GOs Blush

Yeah she had it snipped yesterday and immediately took 5oz and then within 4hrs she had taken 13oz milk. Smile

That is such good news. I bet yiu are so relieved. Better stock up on some more formula Smile
