Bottle to sippy cup or beaker

Hi All,
This is my first post! Confused
I have a little girl (1yr on Christmas Eve!) She has milk from a bottle and currently water also. I am looking for advice on how to transition from bottle to sippy cup or beaker for water. She currently refuses to use anything other than a bottle for water. She has used a doidy cup but I feel this doesn't really encourage independance, as she just spills it everywhere. I have bought a Munchkin 360 beaker and a tomy tippee free flow sippy cup with a small hard teat. Both she refuse! So I then revert to bottle as I dont want her to get dehydrayed!
My question is should I just let her go cold turkey with bottle for water until she trys? What have you all done please?

Also, milk, she has milk feed before a nap in morning and before bed, should I still use a bottle for this? I am inclined to as it acts as a comfort for sleep too!

Thanks in advance!

With the doidy cup, could you put a tea towel or something in front of her to catch the spills? Or is it more 'I'm going to wave this everywhere' type of spilling.
I like 'babycup' (on amazon), they are similar to doidy cups but smaller and narrower so maybe easier, DS (8 months) can drink really well out of one. At the moment I hold it and he 'helps', but your DD is older so may well manage by herself with a little practise.

With milk I think official advice is to change over to cups at 1 but I've never used a bottle (breastfeeding plus cups for water) so I don't know how many people switch at exactly 1, certainly I remember my cousin having bottles of milk as a toddler.

we went to straw cup for DS1 (which he then refused to let go of for 4 years) - but he couldn't figure out bottles either, so frankly he could have drunk from a water pistol if it stopped him demanding breast milk whenever he was thirsty!

DS2 briefly tried a straw cup (brother's stolen one, obviously) - but preferred to quaff from a plastic goblet (yes.. it was fantastic to watch.. he could grip the stem you see - and nothing to do with seeing me and his dad with wine glasses, Oh no.)

So I think my advice is, try a few types and see what they take to!

I bought DD2 the Munchkin miracle 360 cup and I love it

It has 3 parts, the cup, a plastic screw top with holes then a silicon top and works by sucking the side

Comes apart easily for cleaning and no issues trying to get fiddly areas clean - best of all when DD turns it upside down and shakes very little water comes out Grin
