Has anyone tried Kendamil?

DD is 5 1/2 months and EBF. We have started weaning as she is not gaining weight as well as she should. She's happy, alert and active though.

HV hinted that if she continues like this I should consider supplementing with formula. My friend uses Aptamil but today I saw this one that looks pretty nice:

Has anyone tried it?

Thanks :)

Bit late to the conversation but I just wanted to add we have used kendamil since my little one was 10 days old. We have never had any problems with it and have just moved on to the follow on and baby rice. My little one loves it! Can't recommend it enough. I might be wrong but I think it's the only formula made here in the U.K.

StinksNStabes15 · 07/02/2017 15:01

My twin girls have used kendamil for over a year now and they have thrived on it. I would recommend to anyone who is wanting to either use for the first time, or change from an existing formula.
When the girls were younger I also tried out their range of cereals which get a big thumbs up too! 👍🏼

Daisyduck22 · 14/06/2017 11:59

I just thought I would update everyone. Kendamil is now available in Morrison's supermarkets Smile

bf1000 · 14/06/2017 13:07

I would just nurse more. Human milk is more calories rich than food at this age and formula doesn't offer anything extra. Oats can boost you supply so could try adding them to your diet. Also make sure you are eating and drinking enough x

BenMul · 18/08/2017 08:56

I would recommend both my little ones are on it and there seems to be no problems . Its also in Morrison and Asda now! its nice to see an English company doing well .

BAD4 · 21/12/2018 01:44

I know this is an old thread but if others find it I would like to add my two penneth. We have used Kendamil milk and follow on for our daughter and would highly recommend it.
Also its made in the UK by a UK company. so lets support our own manufacturing.
Also you can buy it on line direct from the company delivered to your door, if you order 6 tins at a time you will get a 13% discount.

FartnissEverbeans · 01/01/2019 00:31

Seriously!? Kendamil are constantly starting threads about themselves on here and it’s unethical. It’s against the law for formula companies to advertise this way.

Women come here for peer support when they’re vulnerable and often scared. They should not be used for marketing purposes Angry

BAD4 · 23/01/2019 01:14

FartnissEverbeans - Hi if this message was aimed at me then I apologise for the missunderstanding. I have nothing to do with the company and was not adding my comment for marketing. We use Kendamil, we are happy with it, our daughter is healthy and I was answering the original question. We would recomend it through our experience. I added the comment re buying it as we all need to get our necessities at as good a price we can. If the firm is doing something it shouldn't on here then mumsnet should do something about it and they should be reported. I know nothing of this. That said it does not distract from the fact that as a family we find thier product good

Can we stop with the obvious promotions, it's tiresomely obvious.

FartnissEverbeans · 22/04/2019 16:10

Agawita hasn’t made any other posts on Mumsnet apart from this one raving about Kendamil.

FartnissEverbeans · 22/04/2019 16:11

The same seems to be true of BAD4.

Maybe we should search the rest of the usernames on this thread?

FartnissEverbeans · 22/04/2019 16:20

Okay, so I did some searching and it seemsthat the following users have only ever posted once and only ever about Kendamil.

Sainsbury’s little ones formula is made my kendamil
So just as good and cheaper

As for stealthy formula advertising on here ...I don’t think the OP is doing it but I bet it does happen and maybe the ones who object so much are from other formula companies who knows 🤷‍♀️

Would def be easier to get hold of the Sainsbury’s one. I rarely see Kendamil except for in morissons.

FartnissEverbeans · 22/04/2019 18:50

Haha! If a formula company wants to pay me for my sleuthing they can fill their boots Grin Sadly I’ve had no such offers!

I don’t actually care about formula advertising at all, although obviously it’s illegal. What I object to is a company using this forum in such a sneaky way. Women come here for advice from other mums, often when they’re quite vulnerable, and I think it’s immoral to take advantage of that.

AssassinatedBeauty · 22/04/2019 18:50

We get posts like this extolling the virtues of this particular formula with irritating regularity.

You cannot promote a formula to other parents because you believe it cured your baby's reflux and vomiting. Which was almost certainly nothing to do with the change of formula and just a simple coincidence, due to a maturing digestive system.

Btw, canola oil is the same as rapeseed oil, it's just the American name for it.

FartnissEverbeans · 22/04/2019 18:51

If they are using it in that way of course... I could be wrong.

I am baffled by some of the above messages. If there are a lot of posts extolling the virtues of this formula with irritating regularity. Maybe its because people like it. I am just Jo Blogs member of the public whose family discovered this formula by accident and are happy with it and want others to be aware it is there and is good. I have no affiliation . Maybe my only bias is that I am extra happy to buy from an British company. Which I have no connection with. Apart from being British and having a small child.

Also why is it irritating if posts appear regularly if people post they like something.

One more observation. what is the inference of this being my first and only post. I haven't felt the inclination to post anything before
I don't come here that often, I find parenting time consuming : )

No offence to anyone intended.

I wondered after reading some posts above if Kedamil were doing something they shouldn't. I looked at the Baby Feeding Law Group who monitor breaches by Formula companies in the UK, also Baby Milk Action.

This is what I found

SMA, Cow & Gate, Aptimil , HIPP and in 2017 Aldi,s Mamia and Kendamil. all have registered violations

They all seem to have done something wrong at some time. Though I recommend further reading of Baby Milk Action and Baby Feeding Law Group as some violations are worst than others.

Also of note is that Nestle seem to have fallen foul of Baby Milk Action ( BMA ) group to such an extent that the BMA have promoted a boycott of Nestle. I believe they own SMA amongst others not so well known here in the UK

Another aside is that a well know couple, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge use Kendamil. Which I didn't know till I did some research this evening.

Just for anyone's info that are confused by some of the remarks above.
