Daft question - when I am supposed to replace bottles?

New baby is due soon
DS (2yo) still has 2 bottles a day.

My mate who has a similar aged DS said she had chucked all her bottles out as they were worn and was going to buy new ones for her new baby

How I am supposed to judge if the old bottles are worn?

I reused ours, just chucked out the worn teats/spouts, but had bfed both initially so not overly used. If they are very scratched inside they may harbour old milk which could sour I suppose.

I used the same Avent bottles for both of mine - I just bought new teats in the appropriate size

I suppose my situation is different (foster carer) but I chuck out my bottles and buy new ones for each new baby.

Just seems right to me as the lo's are not related. IYSWIM

Was only thinking about this the other day and reckoned I would chuck out teats but keep bottles. Mind you ds' are orange from the dishwasher so perhaps would be nice to buy more for another baby.

but what a waste of plastic
if the bottles have been sterilized there isn't a problem
I"ve been using the same avent bottles, on dd3 now

Thanks all. I will proceed to reuse
