because I've said no to more after 20 mins of breastfeeding. He's gone spare and is inconsolable. It's really upsetting but it's getting so sore for me.

I'll still give him feeds in the morning, evening and at nap time but he's becoming more and more and more demanding. It's

I'm due in April when DS1 will be 2 and I was hoping to cut down but he seems unwilling.

Am I doing the wrong thing by denying him the breast?

Please help.

No. He may not like it, but it's up to you. Some women feed two dc at once but I certainly wouldn't want to.
If you're going to get him off before the new one arrives, do it before and not too close, or he may blame the new baby for his displacement!!

Winky - this may give some information on how to deal with it.

My ds is the same age, and I find refusing him seems to make him want it more! Could you possibly go with his demands for now without making a big deal of it, in the hope that he will cut down by himself? It must be hard for you if you are sore and have little energy for distracting him though.

Thanks guys. Will look at link.

I don't actually mind feeding him still but on my terms, in my time! Sounds a bit mean but I've got stuff to do and can't sit about feeding a toddler all day.

After an hour of howling and bashing his head on the floor, he calmed down and had a bottle. I don't really want to have that confrontation all day TBH. He'll get the message if I'm firm.

Thanks again.
