. . . nursing bras

really they are so disgusting it's almost enough to put me off. i've got my fifth baby and i am sick to death of having breast pads fall out on the floor in supermarket queues, etc, having the straps go saggy within weeks and they look so bloody dreadful anyway. i will have spent getting on for 10 years of my life with these awful things. would some enterprising mner please design a nursing bra which can keep breast pads in place, which is strong enough but looks nice too?

thanks, i shall have a look. i think i'm expecting too much - that they should look pretty and last for ages too and be practical

I've been using some of mine from having dd nearly 4 years ago, and used again with DS. They are fine. Some arent so attractive, but, they certainly do the job.

Reminds me of a breastpad incident the other day. I was at a till, was paying for items and duly got my purse out, when, suddenly, without warning, a breastpad (unused and in its packet but still....) flicked up with my purse and landed on the till......

lol vvvqv!

I never found a nice, comfortable nursing bra. Good luck though!

Bravissimo nursing bras

Never had one myself, but have known other people who splashed out and really loved having them.

Or Bravado Nursing Bras I like these purely because the back is like a full back sports bra and the comfort is amazing.

belgo · 08/02/2007 18:53

I think Bravado nursing bras look great, and are very comfortable and easy to use. I bought them originally because they were the only nursing bras I could find in black.

lyndyloo · 08/02/2007 18:58

I also hate nursing bras but also having to wear pads, leaking breasts if I forget, big knockers and having to wear a sleep bra! I want to wear a normal bra and tight t-shirts and not worry about my Jordan sized norks or stains from leaking milk!!!!!!

I know there are advantages but these are the things I really hate!!

i used bravado with dd2 but they got quite hard along the bottom elastic bit, and the sides that snapped up
going to treat m;yself to a nice elle mcpherson and bugger thecost
i'm worth it and so are my boobs

harpsichordcarrier · 08/02/2007 19:13

actually I haven't worn nursing bras for about three years (I have been bf for almost four )
I stopped wearing them after speaking to a bfc about it.
I wear a really supportive sports type bra at the beginning, then a well fitting ordinary underwired bra, just making sure the wire never rests against the breast tissue and that I always pull the cup down instead of up.

grannycrackers · 08/02/2007 21:54

i'm definitely going to treat myself to some good nursing bras now. i am mostly using ones a few years old; every time i go to buy something new i think of something the dcs need instead. i'd forgotten i have used a front opening sports bra before which was quite good, but in the first 7/8 months when they're feeding quite often something that can be undone and done up easily is better. i'm not sure if just pulling down the cup would work for me but i might give it a go. i refuse to live with the manky old things i've got now for any longer.
