11 month old suddenly wants boob all day and night again - what is going on??

Anyone got any ideas? We were down to 2 feeds a day and none overnight, but suddenly DS is a total milk monster again, feeding for 40 mins+ and inconsolable if I try to settle him any other way in the night. He is teething (first tooth coming through, at his age!), wondered if that could be anything to do with it? I'm pretty happy to just let him feed when he feels he needs to, but the night feeds feel like a real backwards step - he has always been an awful sleeper, and night-weaning was a real advance for us. I'm exhausted, back at work and with boobs that feel the size of a planet again because he's got my supply right back up. He's never accepted formula or any kind of bottle, so it's my milk or nothing, but I'm really wondering how long this stage is likley to last...

Ds started taking more milk in the mornings around 11 months - he's 1 tomorrow. One night he took a whole 8oz at 01:30 which is unheard of! My neighbours' ds2 (2 days older than my ds) has apparently been the same recently. I just figure it must be a growth spurt.

My theory on this, as my ds was the same is that as they are getting more independent, walking etc then they also need mummy and comfort more. When my son was more confident with his walking, crawling etc he seemed a bit better and didn't need me as much.

this might be a long shot, but maybe you could get someone to have a look in his ears? if he has an ear infection he might want to suck all the time. and for some strange reason it seems to hurt them more at night than during the day (I suppose it is lying down or something)

anyway just thought I'd mention it seeing as there are so many bugs (and ear infections) around
