When do you stop the bed time feed?

Baby is now 1, he's exclusively breastfed as he completely refused all bottles and formula.
He's a great eater and is down to just one breastfeed before bed.

He won't drink cows milk, he has water in a cup, but spits the cows milk out so there's little chance that he will switch to cows milk before bed.

So, when do babies generally stop that last feed?

Any advice is most appreciated thank you.

My ds hates cows milk too so I kept the bedtime BF till he was 14 months old then from then on he just has some water from a sippy cup at bedtime when we are doing stories.

How did he handle no milk at bed? I fear a major meltdown!

I just made the feed shorter and shorter and the one night gave him water instead. He was totally fine actually.

He dropped the morning (and last) feed at 4.3

Still doing it at just turned 2... (and night feeds).

About 2yrs 9 months or so. He still asks occasionally but is generally happy to go to sleep without a feed first.

The bedtime feeds were the last regular feeds he dropped.

Do you mean feed to sleep? Or just as a last drink before bed?

Because DS(3.5) still has a cup if cows milk about an hour before bed.
If you're happy to BF then there's no problem! I'd just be worried about teeth brushing if feeds to sleep still.

DD just before she was 2. But she still has a cup of milk with her bedtime story at 3.5

DS is nearly 1 and has the most micro of bedtime feeds. He's really not interested and I'm not sure why I persist in waggling my boob in his face when he'd much rather get in his cot

If you want to stop, stop! Your DS will doubtless get used to it very quickly. Having someone else put him to bed might help dissociate the bedtime and bf thing. No cows milk is also fine, I think, so long as he's getting those nutrients somewhere else in his diet (e.g. cheese, yoghurt, etc)

When I went back to work at 10 months I still have DS a breast feed before bed on the nights I was home but for the other three nights a week my DH gave him cow's milk in a beaker.

This carried on until DS was about 20 months where I cut out the nighttime BF and he had Cow's milk every night, even if I was home.

DS is 2yrs 6m and only over the last week has he stopped wanting his bedtime milk - he just isn't remotely interested. I think we are just going to stop offering it now.

Here's something you might want to hear my dd was the same at 1, bottle refuser and had issues with cows milk. She was also rubbish at drinking water but would happily drink alpro +1 soya milk in a cup with a straw. Initially I introduced a book before feeding her to sleep but then gradually started taking her off the boob earlier. Eventually I switched the book and feed around so she was sleepy and went in her cot after her book. Then I dropped the feed altogether and replaced with the appropriate +1. It worked really well for us. Good luck, it can be a long process but we were definitely ready to stop at 13 months!
