bf when ill

I was ill with a septic throat & high temp for a couple of days but continued bf. A colleague of mine was shocked as she said she thought it was dangerous to bf when mum has a fever. Is this true? I'd always assumed that if I have something contagious at least by bf I'm passing on the antibodies straight away & stopping baby catching it. Anyway it's a bit of a mute question as I'm better now & DD didn't seem to suffer any consequences, but am interested to know for another time.
On a completely different matter but while I'm posting can you use any plastic bag to freeze ebm? I've been using avent sterilised ones but it occurred to me that any new plastic bag is going to be sterile so maybe could just buy a cheapie own brand?

You can always keep breastfeeding, when you're ill. You're right, your colleague is talking rubbish.

Re: bags. I don't know. I don't think new plastic bags are sterile, and I'd worry about there being plastic residue in them? Or something? Boots make BF milk bags, though, which I think are cheaper than Avent ones.

totally always keep BF, I would say more important to DO it when ill than not becuase of the passing on pf antibodies that you already mentioned, ignore your colleague

I would stick with bags designed for EBM but there are cheaper ones than Avent.
