Why does my nipple feel bruised?

I've been fully breastfeeding DD2 for the past 3 weeks or so (before that I expressed and she was tube and then bottle fed). My milk seemed to have settled down but over the weekend I woke up really engorged on one side (I've always had more milk from that side) and my nipple is really tender. It feels bruised and it hurts when I touch it and when DD first latches on. I can't feel a lump or anything but it does feel like when I had a blocked duct. Any ideas?

There's no milk blister that you can see? It looks like a little whote spot om the nipple. They can make the nipple feel bruised. Does dd's latch seem to be ok?
