Advice please -six month old kicking and pinching me during feeds

As the title said, I have a big bruiser of a baby who loves his good, just started weaning but also loves breast feeding.

I tend to feed lying down whilst in the house as he is easily distracted by the toddler and tends to yank his head off continuously if I feed downstairs on the sofa. Lying down ensures a good feed but he kicks and kicks me during it and pinches the skin on my chest all the time. I feel like I'm either trying to control his arm or control his legs.

He has four teeth and has teethed quite strongly so I know sometimes his agitation is his teeth as he will bite me. But it's the kicking and pinching that hurts the most as its continuous during the day feeds.

I have an 8 month old who sounds similar. No advice but very interested if anyone has any.

I'll probably be shouted down for this, but back in the day, if one of mine bit or pinched hard, enough for me to yelp, then that would be the end of the feed, and they'd have to wait for a while before I'd feed them again. At that age, half an hour or so won't harm them. Mine got the message quite quickly.
It's such a rotten stage to go through, I hope it passes soon.

You could try a feeding / teething necklace that you wear (there are a few on Amazon) - baby can fiddle with it instead of pinching you. No idea how to stop the kicking though.

Yeah I find this hard and worse when lying down as legs and arms can get at more of me!!
I've managed by putting duvet in between me and DD's legs if kicking, helps a bit, also putting a soft toy in my DD's arms works well with the pinching/twisting as she clutches this and twists away at its arms and ears instead!!
I know it's pain but it's hard isn't it when you are being pounded and prodded :-) I also Yelp ow! And pull off, not really any strategy behind this its a sort of instinctive reaction but I think it's helped a bit as DD looks a bit surprised then is a bit gentler :-)

I wonder why they do it 🤔 He doesn't do it in the night so it's obviously something to do with being wide awake and active.

I used to put DDs socks over her hands to stop her scratching during BF or Scratchsleeves, both were great.

Does he fart at all when feeding? DS2 does this and quite a lot of the time, after a little trump, he calms down a bit.

Yes this happens to me too. I sometimes put a small thin mattress (Moses basket sized ) between us when lying down. Another thing that helped is helping him to rest his feet up higher/bent which seems to find more comfortable. Sometimes kicking is baby trying to get rid of wind so try burping him/ bending his knees to tummy/ rubbing tum my - even though he may now seem old for this, it can help. I cut baby's nails very carefully with normal nailsnips too - then file if still sharp.
