BF 1 year old constantly

Hi,
My DS is now 1 year and almost 1 month old and lately he seems to BF all the time, specially in the morning and evening.
As soon as he sees my nipple he goes for it and if he can't see it he whines and starts pulling at my top. This is all very cute but is this just a stage? Does anyone know?

When he latches on he then stays on for a good while but I can't hear him swallowing lots so I'm not sure how much he is actually drinking.

I have just got my period back finally and I'm feeling very tired and drained most days and I assume all these things are not just coincidences..?

Has anyone gone through something similar?

This sounds normal to me! Sounds like my ds at times. He went through a really 'boob-mad' stage, possibly a bit older than your ds, but it does pass (eventually). My ds is coming up to 2yo, and it seems to have been waning over the last month or so. We also often have quite long snuggly feeds, when I don't think he is taking much milk, but is getting a lot of comfort. I know it can be quite draining and frustrating at times, but I have generally found it quicker and easier to feed on demand where possible, trying not to make a big deal of the frequency of feeds. There is a very good book - Mothering Your Nursing Toddler - which I found really helpful and reassuring.
