deep freeze and BF

Can I use deep freeze? Am BF a 10 month old and the pharmacy told me to see my GP which is pretty much impossible for something so minor and a waste of an appointment (not that I could get one!)

Thank you!

To store breast milk? Yes! www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/pages/expressing-storing-breast-milk.aspx

Time depends on temperature; a deep freeze or ice box (different for each). See link to nhs page.

(I assume you didn't mean "can I breastfeed inside my freezer"...! Bit chilly. Maybe you could. Always wondered how Inuit ladies manage, depths of the arctic winter and everything. Assume they have fox fur lined nipple shields.

I wonder if the OP actually means the pain relief brand Deep Freeze? :) If so OP, there's a section on their website about breastfeeding - deepfreeze.co.uk/help-advice/faqs/

Yes I meant the cold spray. I don't understand why it says no though because it says that it doesn't contain any drugs so what is so bad that is going to get into the milk? Will it make my milk like an ice cream milk shake that gives the baby brain freeze?

I'm just fed up of everything saying NO.

I'm off to consult Google again.

That section of their website doesn't differentiate between pregnancy and breastfeeding, so it could be that the 'no' is related to pregnancy.

Sorry to get wrong end of stick! Good luck finding answer to your question

staybeautiful · 08/07/2016 14:24

Bigmamapeach haha don't worry it's quite funny. I have fed al fresco last winter and it was pretty nippy. No pun intended! I wouldn't fancy feeding in a freezer.

Sorry that was me. Forgot my name change!

I'd say it would be fine as long as not applying to your nipples lol.

The Drugs in Breastmilk Helpline is great for questions like this xx
