how long does a growth spurt last?

18 day old ds has been pretty much permanently attached to me for 2 days, so i think i can safely assume this is a growth spurt. but does anyone know how long they last, on average?

I was never organised enough to work these things out but if any comofort,I definitely noticed hugely increased milk spply in the days that followed (ie waking up looking like Dolly Parton.)
Find a comfy chair,sit back and relax.
I hope the family are treating you like a queen???
