i have asked this already on my OMG...blah blah blah thread but i've just woken up from the sofa and can't be fudged to read the whole thing to see what the answer is.

going to bed soon, i'm knackered.

I think so, I'm afraid, if he's not latching. (Haven't checked other thread either).
Had this with ds - he refused to latch from 4 or 5 days until 3.5 weeks. Got a fair bit of reading done while expressing...

If you don't you will wake up with throbbing breasts begging to be relieved I would imagine. I wasn't able to breastfeed as too painful so expressed for 3 weeks solid. I would get 9oz in 30 mins which I now know is too much as 4-6 hours later my body produced the same amount to be expressed and of course I began to hate my machine. I would express last thing which was about 12 midnight and then at 7am get myself back on the machine to relieve the pain and engorgement.
