Pain after 10 months?

I have been very lucky and have BF DS2 with no problems for 10 months. The last few days I have started to feel a pain in both nipples, nothing that's stopping me feeding him but I'm worried about what's causing it and if it's going to get worse. He is definitely my last baby and I feel a bit emotional at the thought of having to stop BF.
I just wondered if anyone else has had this? What was it? Or any advice on what to do to help with the pain?

Hello. I've got this too but mine is 5.5 months. I think with me it is because I'm coming on my period or I think I am anyway. Going docs tomorrow to get checked though.

Thank you for replying, maybe it was hormones as it's gone again now and I did feel tearful at the thought of having to stop.
Hope the doctor agrees.
