I thought my dd was refusing bf and was worried she was self-weaning... she had started just rolling over and turning away from feeding... (i feed her lying down as have bad back, turns out she wants to be fed whilst on her tummy!!!! anyone else experienced this?? i would have thought it uncomfortable but she seems delighted!

Hi, it was my DD's preferred position too, particularly in early days when I had loads of milk and a mad let down! I think for her it was the easiest way of coping with all the milk I produced initially. clever little things!

my ds loves this way too. esp when he has a cold!! also he can see more things around him.

Wait until she's a bit older to get the really bizarre positions

If it works go with it

Blimey! The first thing I thought when I read this title was...is she a reincarnation of an ancient Greek aristocrat? They used to lie on couches and have servants drape bunches of grapes into their mouths, didn't they?

You might have your work cut out when she is older if she expects that kind of service

Oh yes, know it well! My dd was (and sometimes still is) a terrible thrasher while feeding, and sometimes the most peaceful feeds would be exactly as you describe: lying down on my side, with her starting in a conventional position and ending up on her tummy. It might have been comfortable for her, but my boobs felt like they were being streeeetttccchhhed.
