My ds is 9 months old and is a fantastic eater - he eats 3 meals a day, pretty much anything i make for him. he has 60-90 ml with with his cereal in the morning. . how many formula feeds should i give him in addition to his meals. currently giving 3, but wonder if 2 is enough, in view of the amount he eats?

We went down from 3 to 2 feeds around 10 months. We went skiing and french nursery just stopped it. Minimum amout of milk is 1 pint at this age but includes all dairy. A dietician told me that 1 normal size eg 125g yogaurt = 1/2 pint of milk.

We went down to 2 feeds at around 10mths too - ds ate well and would probably keep drinking as much milk as we would give him but it started to make him throw up through eating too much!!

Our DD went down to one feed a day as soon as she started crawling wich was far more exciting than drinking milk before she wnet to bed. If she woke up when we went to bed then we would give her another bottle, other than that we gave her cereal, yoghurt and cheese to top up.

Ds is nine months and we're still on 4 feeds a day. But he pukes yoghurt and cheese and won't eat cereal so I can't get milk into him any other way. He drinks about 20oz (I think that's a pint) a day, split among the four feeds

DS is 9 months and takes 2 maximum a day, and has been like that from about 8 months. He always takes 8oz at breakfast, about half from the bottle and half going on his cereal or porridge. We dropped the mid-afternoon feed weeks ago because he wasn't interested. I offer an 8oz bottle at bedtime, but he rarely takes it all, and sometimes refuses it all.
He eats at least one yoghurt each day, and I try to sneak milk into his food (sauces etc) to compensate.
It may be totally unreliable, but my hv says that it is quite common for boys to get bored with milk early on.

My boy is definitely still interested in his milk. He is 11 months and has 7oz at am, then cows milk with his weetabix, then has about 5oz at 2:30/3ish pm and about 8oz before bed at 6:30. I am starting to cut down the afternoon one with a view to cutting it out completely by the time he is 12 months, he would still take 7oz if I offered it. He eats three good meals a day too. All his "friends" of the same age still have three bottles a day too, but most are starting to cut down the middle one.

Oh he also has a yoghurt every day, and sometimes cheese.

Hope this helps .
