breastfeeding and perfumes/body products

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has any natural or chemical free/light perfume or body products they recommend for breastfeeding?

I've found a great natural deodorant (neals yard lavender and aloe) but wondering if there is a perfume or body oil/lotion that I could use that would not gas my poor baby when she arrives. I know perfume isn't essential, it just perks me up. I do need an oil or cream though for chest area as my tiny boobs have grown a lot in pregnancy and have lots of stretch marks so would like to prevent this getting worse if possible as they get bigger when my milk comes in. Could i use a natural nipple salve (I have got the earth mama Angel baby nipple balm) all over the boob as presumably since you don't have to wash it off it's safe for baby to 'ingest'? Any thoughts?

I just used my usual deodorant, perfume and cream. Dove and Lush Dream Cream and whatever perfume I normally use, just sparingly. I used Lansinoh nipple cream for both of mine and it was very good.

Coconut oil good for boobies :) and should be ok for baby??

I love the Weleda baby range and sure that they do an adult one that could meet your requirements??

I didn't use anything when y LG was born, now occasionally use perfume but one clothes not skin. She's almost two X

I was told to avoid all perfumed products including shampoo/body washes/ bubble bath/ deodorant and make up when pregnant with my baby years ago, was told it would mask the smell of milk and interfere with breastfeeding.

The only thing avoiding all these products did was to interfere with my bonding with my baby, increased my anxiety and I am positive led to post natal depression.

Avoid strong smells yes but otherwise, use products you have always used x
