Green poop for 2 weeks

Ebf 5 month old has been doing green poop for 2 weeks now. Several per day. Everything fine other than that.

Should I go to the gp?

Is it stringy? Like spinach? If it is it's nothing to worry about. I had it too, I found it was my hind milk supply. Just feed of each breast twice, so don't just do left then right each time. It balences it out.

It could be teething. More saliva equals more frequent and more green poo in my baby.

Just in to ask the same thing - green poo in my 12 week old the last few weeks, corresponding to him sleeping longer stretches at night and is going on holiday. Figure it's to do with milk supply and feeding patterns as I've noticed a big difference in how much I'm leaking / feeling engorged, etc. Comes and goes so wasn't worried, but now having some quite dark green nappies which smell really bad so worried about illness a bit. Can too much foremilk effect smell as well?

Loads and loads of saliva here over about the same period, but though this too early for teething?

The teething thing makes sense. He's really really drooly.

My DS had this and I took him to gp on advice of HV. He said it was normal for bf babies to have green poo sometimes. It was a hot summer and I was producing a lot of thirst quenching watery milk so I'm guessing that's what was causing it. Totally healthy and normal.

I wouldn't start each feed with the breast your started with last as this can reduce your supply - it's called block feeding. Green nappies in a BF baby are usually nothing to worry about as long as baby is gaining weight ok.

ZZZ - I block feed anyway as I have issues with over supply- if I don't block feed I end up covered in milk at each feed.

I suspect its a mix of warm weather and teething. He's showing lots of signs of teething. I know its sometimes normal its just the longevity and frequency I've been concerned about.

Someone told me that saliva production encourages the stomach to produce more acid as it thinks it's getting food. When it doesn't get more milk the acid is ejected which equals the green poo - does it have a vinegary smell? I'm not medical expert but the logic of this makes sense to me!

Our baby was doing this for about three weeks at six months. It was a pain as she needed changing in the night too. We worried at first but as she was ok in herself we stopped worrying and lo and behold, a tooth appeared at the end of it all. Now, I find it's the telltale sign of a tooth on its way.
