Long weekend without bf baby

Breastfed DS will be 11 months at the end of the month. He only has one feed in the evening before bed and sometimes a morning feed to shut him up so I can go back to sleep! The rest of the time he's happy to stuff his face with food, and has only night-fed from 7 months.

I'm going away for a weekend hen party soon so will be gone mid-Friday to mid-Monday. DS will be fine; we have a freezer full of expressed bm, but he'll probably turn his nose up at it and have an extra biscuit.

BUT... will I need to express?? I know from the point of view of engorgement I might have to hand express here and there (although this hasn't been an issue for a good long while!), but with him feeding so little for so many months will my supply think I'm done for good? I need to still be making milk when I get back as he's allergic to dairy and won't entertain any of the specialist milks.

I think for 3 nights away you would probably need to express or risk the supply I'm afraid. Plus your own comfort as well, we recently had our first night away from still bfed 22 month old and my breasts were sore by the next morning.

I had a long weekend away with friends at 11mo and that became our stop for BF (intentionally) so I did not express and DD seemed fine with it to stop so if you want to continue you may need to do something. I was also feeding 2x morning and evening.

Once in the morning, once in the evening.

Dammit, I find expressing such a faff!

I guess I could weigh-up the option of stopping now as he's only a month away from the recommended age for drinking normal milk (soya in our case)... but I don't think we're ready for that! Actually that's silly, I'm not stopping for a hen party, I'll just suck it up and take the milking machine.
