Does a 16 mth old need to drink cows milk (not BF)?

DS has been on cow's milk since 12 months (BF til 8 mths then mixed feeds til 12 mths) and he's never been that keen. He frequently doesn't bother with the morning one at all and is taking less and less of his bedtime milk. He's just stopped guzzling it and is sipping probably about an oz (at best he probably has about 5-6 oz over the day).

Why should I carry on trying to get him to drink milk? Is it just calcium, and is it okay to try to get it from foods? He is a cheese, yoghurt and porridge fiend so has a fair bit I think.

Anyone else stopped bothering with milk drinks at this age and their baby survived ?

hi there id like to know too
my friends son didnt do cows milk and he is ahealthy four year old so we're not alone

im just horrified at the way milk is created- i.e. keeping cows pregnant all the time - just seems wrong so thats why im not keen to use it

any info will be appreciated - but in my humble opinion your DS seems to be getting lots of calcium elsewhere
