Sick after feeding

Hi all.

I am a new mum to a 3 week old little girl who was born 3 weeks early by c section. I am primarily breast feeding with an odd bottle feed at night. The past day or two I have noticed that after every feed little one she is bringing up more and more milk which is worrying me…I also notice that even after burping (I have tried most forms of winding), as soon as I put her in her Moses basket she starts to 'grunt', squirm and generally looks unhappy and almost in pain. (With the added stress that she is bringing up milk whilst lying down at random intervals) As she is bringing up milk she constantly seems hungry and has gone from feeding every 3 hours to if I'm lucky every hour. writing this short message she has been sick twice (no warning it just comes up). Has anyone else experienced this and what was the outcome. X

No experience sorry, but hopefully this will bump for you .

It is a pita but not usually serious. Check with the Hv or GP for any underlying condition that might be helped with meds. Some babies are like this and there is nothing wrong. They grow out of it as their system matures. It's sensible to check, though.

I have a very puky 10 week old. My first baby exactly the same.

DD 2 doesn't seem upset by it but it means I permanently hold her bib to her face while she's not feeding.

It stopped around 6 months but was replaced with really bad dribbling!

I think in my case it's just a pita as tiktok said above.

Just make sure you have bibs and muslins to hand.

I carry a washing basket around the house with me wherever I go. DD saturates her bibs and then some!

My 11 week old was exactly the same, so I took her to the GP and it turned out she has reflux which is luckily managed with infant gaviscon. She still vomits a bit but it's a lot better.

Have you tried elevating her mattress a little? This might help if she is windy. Also, I find it can take a lot of perseverance to get wind up - keeping her upright for 15-20 minutes after a feed might help.

Is there any chance she might have reflux? How is her weight?

Sounds like reflux I would go to gp it's very uncomfortable and won't disappear by itself until stomach mathres
