Help, teeth are making me bleed!

My DD has 3 upper teeth, one of which only came through recently, the last few days she has been really ummm vigorous when latching and as result my left side has a sore and my right is bleeding

I have not had problems with feeding since leaving the hospital and dont want to stop because of this so, any ideas?

I have tried adjusting latch by moving her around so her head is back, but no joy, she is 11 months old so has decided how she will feed and that is that!

Help!

maybe try nipple shields?

She freaked out at them when she was younger, would a baby this old take to them?

Worth a try though....DH is horrified, he can't believe I am still feeding her when I am 'actually f*ing bleeding ffs!' (his words...!)

I am not sure if the problem is that she is biting, or that the teeth are rubbing and making you sore?

My dd came very close to making me give up breatfeeding when she was around 8-9 months and her teeth came through as she learnt to bite - it was such fun hearing me shriek!

I solved it by trying not to fuss, but everytime she bit on me I removed her straight away (I tried to do it gently rather than throwing her!) and put her on the floor. I didn't shout, just put her away from me. She very quickly learned that it didn't pay to bite and stopped.

We carried on until she was 4.5, so thank goodness she did stop biting
Even now at 11 she remembers how lovely BF was and tells me about it.

Sorry, not clear! She isnt biting, we went through a stage of that a few months ago and managed to stop it, this is just her teeth rubbing, so its harder to stop as she isnt doing it herself IYSWIM.

Good for you for getting to 4.5, I am aiming for 18 months at the mo, but starting aiming for 6 weeks, so am really chuffed with how far we have come, would hate to give up now!
