H pylori? Is mastic gum safe while BF?

I'm suffering from awful dysphagia which the doctors think is due to reflux, and might be due to a bacterial infection - helicobacter pylori. I'm waiting for my test results but in the meantime I want to try and treat it naturally. I read that mastic gum is good for this problem but does anyone know if it's safe to take while BF? Thanks.

Thanks, I have already contacted Wendy Jones and she says she can't find any information about it!

Hello, this is Dr Zavos, gastroenterologist from Greece. Please take particular note that many of the products on sale are not natural Chios mastic gum, but synthetic, which may pose a threat during lactation.

Natural Chios mastic gum has been used as a traditional remedy and food in Greece for over 2,500 years and its safety is guaranteed. However, there are currently no published data concerning its safety during pregnancy or lactation, and therefore one cannot assume the responsibility of recommending it during these periods of time.

You can read a comprehensive article on Chios mastic gum on my website at URL: peptiko.gr/show_article.php?article=249&selected=-1
