Anyone got a ring sling suitable for bf...

Actually if anyone has any advice about using them (eg they don't work, they're easy to use, etc) that would be great too.

i have one that you are supposedly supposed to be able to breastfeed in, but I've never really worked it out. At home we sit down on sofa or lie down in bed, when I'm out and about, I'll find somewhere to sit down, surly walking around would cause a lot of detatchement from the nipple? and what if you're not wearing the sling for access to the right boob?
maybe someone can enlighten me!!

I successfully breastfed BabyDragon in a coorie pouch sling. No faffing about with rings, just put it on like a sash and off you go. Easy peasy to make if you have a sewing machine too.

What about a Mei-Tai? Dc gets access to both boobs then! I have this one

I thought about making one as I have reasonable sewing skills and a spiffy sewing machine I have hardly used, but to be honest I would probably never get round to it

Oh I would definitely consider making one yourself. A mei-tai is basically just a big rectangle with straps attached. And you could pad the shoulders as much as you like. I'm sure there are some patterns on-line somewhere. Have you looked at thebabywearer.com?

I was going to make my own, Tatties - there seem to be some great patterns on the web - but I have a month old baby who doesn't sleep and a 19 month dd who needs lots of attention, so it may be beyond me ATM!

Have just found someone on another thread who will sell me their sling for £10 so that's probably the simplest option - thanks anyway though.

Oh I didn't realise you had a month old baby! Congratulations I assumed the sling was for an older one. I don't know much about which slings are best for newborns, I only started using one recently and ds is 21mo! I agree, probably best to buy one in your situation. Hope you get some sleep soon.
