electric pump recommendations needed

Been looking on amazon but no idea what one to buy. Do I spend £££ on one of the bigger names tommee tippee or avent? Or will one of the cheaper ones do the job just as well ?

Depends entirely on what you want to do with it and your circumstances.

Want to express a little at work to relieve pressure? A hand pump off eBay will do.

Want to express a couple of ounces once in a while as a one off? A single hand pump or a cheap closed single electric off eBay would again do.

Want to express daily for a small fixed amount ? A good single electric like Medela swing will be fine.

Want to express lots to build stabs or even exclusively express? A good quality hospital grade double electric pump like Medela Symphony or an Ardo Calypso or At the least a Lansinoh double electric.

Remember breasts are differently shaped as well for different folk. Not everyone gets along with everything. I got on best with Medela single electric but not at all with Lansinoh.

Spectra make good pumps at a reasonable price

I've been advised to express after every feed to completely empty the breast the seen if that will help any with the pain I've been having .

Definitely NOT Tommee Tippee - their pumps are terrible. Even Avent has been bettered by more recent pumps. I would second Spectra - hospital grade at a much cheaper price. I love mine.

Yes, the Tommee Tippee electric one is totally shit. I love the Medela Swing, which would be good for your purposes, I think, if is going to be a temporary thing.
Hospital grade ones are brilliant for exclusively expressing - mine was a lifesaver - but it doesn't sound like that's necessary in your case?

Medala swing has been great. Tried others that didn't feel good on my breast or work as well. I'd avoid any hand pumps as too time consuming. Not being familiar with your situation maybe be careful with feeding then pumping as you may inadvertently increase your milk supply.
