Hi there - I've been exclusively expressing milk since my baby was born 6 months ago.
We're currently moving him on to formula so I will stop expressing very soon.

Does anyone know of anywhere I can donate/recycle my expressing equipment (Medela bottles, tubes etc)? I have about 8 sets and it seems to be a real waste to throw them in the bin, but I know that people may not want to use second hand stuff!

My DSis and I have both used my pump, we just replaced and bits that got a bit worn, but I know some might not like to use it.

You could try a Facebook freebies page or a breastfeeding group? There's plenty of expressing equipment for sale on eBay too.

PS well done on expressing for so long, I did it for 4 months and was a physical and emotional wreck through exhaustion and an unfillable baby!

Just to say - six months?! Good grief. That's impressive.
I'm nine weeks in with dd and did it for 4 months with ds but struggling more this time as have ds to look after and am spending a lot of time attracted to a breast pump instead.
I find expressing soul destroying to be honest and stressful because you know how much milk you need to get to feed your baby.
I've no idea how you kept going for so long.

Thanks I'll have a look Smile

My little boy has been in intensive care since birth and all the staff told me how important breast milk is when they're so tiny, so I just kept going.

I'm getting tired now and decided to bottle feed rather than breastfeed (he has lung problems so bottle feeding requires less effort) so it seems like the right time to stop.
(Can't wait to get the time/my body back...)
