dropping a milk feed

I am in the process of dropping my lo mid afternoon milk feed - well actually he is doing it himself! gradually cutting down from what was 5-6 oz to anywhere between 1-3 oz. he is a year old and has 6oz milk in the morning (including on his weetabix) and a 6oz milk feed before bed. If I cut out the mid afternoon feed do I need to replace it with a snack or drink of juice or just forget about it altogether. Also, do I wait until he refuses this feed altogether before cutting it out or just stop it now?

I just offered ours water in a nonspill cup instead if they seemed thirsty. That amount is hardly worth having and you may find you cna up the later one if you are concerned.
