has anyone actually tasted formula

Name changed as I'm a little apprehensive to admit this, but I was making a bottle for DS and wondered what formula tasted like. So I shamelessly had a little taste (he's on SMA gold) and I was actually surprised to find that it tasted quite nice . Well, I thought so anyway.

I know some people will find this gross, but has anyone else done this? Or been curious about it?

Yes I have, wouldn't feed my baby something I wasn't willing to try anyway at first we used premise formula as we were only using a little bit a day - now THAT is gross, like UHT milk. The freshly made stuff ain't so bad!

I bought my DS a ton of formula yesterday as we were running out. I have noticed SMA have changed the packaging, so I had a sneaky taste and the powder seems to taste completely different now. It's a lot worse, and it didn't taste very nice at all.

I don't know whether I just got a dud tin or whether they have changed the actual formula somehow?

I've drunk more of my own bm than I care to admit (I have excess lipase to have to check any expressed milk before using it). It tastes pretty good - very sweet!

My grandson was prescribed nutramigen and I inadvertently tried it when I was checking if it was too hot for him

Now on oat milk which I have to say does taste rather nice

I didn't like the smell/ taste of SMA but quite liked Cow and Gate. DS felt the same :)

Maydream, SMA have changed the formula, my baby refused to drink the new formula so I've been out and bought all of the tins of the old stuff we could find (10!) and will probably buy more if I see it.

They often make you taste it at airport security. DH and I always argue about who has to do it. Thankfully those days are nearly over.

I took a swig out of what I thought was an orange juice carton (sleep deprived, stumbling around in the middle of the night) but was actually ready made SMA Gold.

DD is now 14 but the memory of the taste of it still makes me gag

I tried bm, i didnt like it it tasted like melon juice? I didnt try my dc prescription formula as was for prem babies and absolutely stank, had a bit of the night time formula you could buy (no idea if you still can) with dc 2 and it was ok.

Argh! My son doesn't like the new formula either, he's refusing it for some reason. Never had a problem before. I've been to the co-op and stocked up on two tins of the old stuff!
