Advice re: 5wk old Ebf dirty nappy frequency

As per the title really, dd is 5 weeks and we're only seeing one 2-3 days (though when they happen, they're full!). Plenty of wet nappies and appears healthy and alert and doesn't seem hungry, but she's also not gaining weight as expected (was on 91st centile at birth and has fallen to 50th according to our HV). She is a puker tho!

I had read that up to a week wasn't unheard of with BF babies, but the HV has freaked me out a little. We haven't had a dirty nappy in 3 days now, if she still hasn't had one by tomorrow should I be worried and should i call HV?

I wouldn't worry, probably just constipation. But yes, do contact your HV for the right advice.

If she's exclusively breastfed then it'd be very unlikely that's she's constipated. Breast milk has a mild laxative effect.
Little ones often star going much less frequently around now. My DD is also now in a habit of every 2-3 days. I've been told it's just her way and as long as there are still plenty of wet nappies and she's happy, it just means she's very efficient and is getting all the goodness from the milk without much waste. It's fully digested

Totally normal, no need to worry at all. Mine were the same and I think there were a few occasions when mine didn't go for up to 10 days! As long as they are producing a lot after several says have passed all is fine

That's fine. Breast milk is designed so it's suited to babies and therefore there's little waste products in comparison
