I have just passed the 1 year milestone with my daughter (well, a week ago) and as the little dear eats barely any food it looks like we will be bfing for some time.

Any others? I am already fighting my family and having to justify why we are continuing, but my family is American so not sure if that has anything to do with it..?

Anyway, just saying hello!
Carrie

hi! Yes, plenty of us around, I'm bf my 15 month old and she's showing no signs of wanting to give up especially as she has a cold at the moment, and wants to drink lots.

Ignore your family, you don't have to justify breastfeeding!

I got really upset my family members who commented on me still bf my first dd at one year, but now I'm still bf my second dd, they haven't said anything at all.

bctmum · 20/12/2006 16:20

I'm bf a one yr old. It's great as so handy when out & about.

purplemonkeydasheranddancer · 20/12/2006 16:23

You are definitly not alone!!!
i'm still BFing my 15mo ds (as i type actually! )
it's hard sometimes cause in the "real world" you feel like you're the only one.
You've done a great job! be proud!

I breatfed DD2 until she was 2 1/2. She didn't have a great amount of interest in food until I stopped bf'ing. I don't think it matters.

maryhadaharpsichordyeahlord · 20/12/2006 16:35

checking in....
I am "still" bf my dd2 (13 months) and very very occasionally my dd1 (3.5) who is pretty much self weaned...
god, just go for it and ignore everyone else, that's my advice

NotQuiteCockney · 20/12/2006 16:38

I breastfed DS1 to 18 months. And now I am still breastfeeding DS2 at over 2. I am in no hurry to stop, and given that he happily spends an hour feeding some mornings, neither is he.

He does eat reasonably well, and has since he was 9 or 10 months.

I am still bf my ds at 20mo and really wouldn't be without it. I think people have given up asking me when I'm going to stop

TheBlonde · 20/12/2006 17:05

Just saying hello back
Not feeding at the mo but fed DS til 17mths when he self weaned (due to me being pg I think)

Overrunderthemistletoe · 20/12/2006 17:08

mrsmalumbas · 20/12/2006 17:23

2 years and 4 months here - only really at night though, not during the day.

I asked her the other day why she liked boobie milk and she said "because I used to cry a lot and I love my Mummy".

olittletownofberolina · 20/12/2006 17:47

me - ds is 19 months. I bf him to sleep and he often climbs onto my lap in the day saying 'mi-k'
