Don't they look snazzy?!

That is all

So just popped into boots and asked about the new formula.

The assistant said the old package was being recalled so you can promote the new one.

Annoyed as my 12 weeks old has had no issues so don't want to change and don't want to pay more!!

Is it worth stocking up or anyone suggest another brand?

Gunting · 18/01/2016 13:10

Unimaginative - does that mean they are going to stop selling the blue tubs?

IPityThePontipines · 18/01/2016 13:15

Glad SMA didn't change while Dd2 was on it, C&G and Aptimil gave her terrible runny poos.

Any sly tactics to make formula more expensive is very dodgy.

unimaginativename13 · 18/01/2016 13:45

So boots has told me, they are sending all the blue tubs back.

I asked why would the recall and not sell and she said there was nothing wrong with them.

Gunting · 18/01/2016 15:05

Just seen this.... Looks like there is no need to change formula

Suppose it depends if shops will want to stock both though

unimaginativename13 · 18/01/2016 16:24

That's good, Boots staff obviously need to big a training!

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 18/01/2016 16:53

Wow £13 a tub never knew formula was so expensive last time I looked was around £9 tin

unimaginativename13 · 18/01/2016 17:38

£13 for 800g usually £10 for 900g

Topsy34 · 18/01/2016 19:40

I have no idea with formula as not using, but they really are fancy posh tins!!! Bascially all marketing bollocks though.

The weight thing sounds like the whole quality street tin got smaller scenario...

In Chinese news it says that Aptamil Profutura is the best milk on the market. Because they have added phospholipids, Omega 3&6 and GOS/FOS to the formula. This is being sold for £35 a tub in China and lots of people are buying it.

HopperBusTicket · 10/07/2016 08:16

I know a lot of baby formula gets sent from the UK to China because of lack of trust there in Chinese formula after scandals and in some cases babies dying. Boots limits to two tubs at a time so that there is some left for parents here who need it and I believe has a problem with theft of formula to be sent to China too. This is what I was told by a member of staff.

HopperBusTicket · 10/07/2016 08:18

By the way - I can completely understand parents in China wanting to do best by their children and keep them safe. But I doubt many can afford £35 a tub!

Nan0second · 10/07/2016 09:06

It's bollocks and it makes me really really angry.
There are strict laws about what has to be in formula so essentially they are all the same.
It's just advertising and marketing.
Change formula to something else without worry...
