Mixing cold and warm expressed milk

I'm sure this gets asked a lot but there's conflicting information online... Can I express milk in the evening, put it in the fridge, and then add freshly expressed milk to that in the morning and then freeze the lot?

As I understand it you can chill the morning expressed milk, then combine the two and freeze.

What doesn't seem to be recommended is putting your freshly expressed body temp milk straight into chilled milk.

That's what I thought. Bummer :( wasted a whole load already.
