How can i increase daytime feeds?

DS 5.5months. Ebf until this week when he has started trying to steal food from people. So has had a try at carrot, banana and toast. (don't think he has eaten any but given them all a good gumming)

Anyway...... He really doesn't feed much during the day. Will rarely feed if we go out - too distracted - i always offer before leaving the house. He will sometimes feed a bit, others not at all. Also will feed in the car on arrival/leaving somewhere. But he generally isn't that interested. But feeds a lot at night. Almost constantly from.the early hours onwards.

We co sleep from his first wake up whuchbused to be 1/2a.m. But is getting earlier and ever (11pm last night after feeds at 7 + 10 and he did feed at 11) and last night left 30 minutes between feeds from about 2am to 7. Was awake 7 - 8 then fed, slept an hour and fed again.

He can and does feed in his sleep, and indeed suckles without feeding sometimes but a lot of it is feeding.

Will this stop as he eats more solids? How can i get him to feed more during the day? If at all.

I'm hoping someone has some words of advice/experience. Last night felt like pretty constant feeding and im shattered!

Yesterday we went out. He had a feed at 10.45 before we left. Wouldn't feed while we were out but gummed a slice of toast. Small feed in the car at 2.30. Good long feed at home at @ 3.30, 5 and 7. Awake at 9.30 and fed. Then 11.30. Then he may have gone for a couple of hours but certainly from 1.30am it felt at least hourly. I haven't tried him in his cot at this stage of the night as i can't bear the thought of having to get up to him every hour.

We have the same problem. Everything is exciting so we are up all night feeding. Grrrrrrr!

One thing I have had very very limited success with is feeding just before he naps so he feeds when v sleepy. Of course it's into rod for own back terrority because feeding to sleep but right now I will do ANYTHING that gets me more night sleep!
