Wanting babies to jump centiles

I may well be alone in this but I am ebf my baby and most of the other new mums I've met are ff. It feels like they are competing to have the biggest baby and I feel like I am missing something. My baby is following his centile and thriving but he is long and lean. I know I shouldn't care but I just don't understand why they are all really proud when their babies jump centiles, and congratulate each other. Is this a common thing for mums to want their babies to pack on as much as possible? I feel happy when my son is following the curve as I know he is getting enough breast milk, but I don't get why you would celebrate a ff baby going above the curve. I'm just left scratching my head as to whether this is a 'thing' I'm not getting! They are lovely ladies, I just wondered if I am the unusual one, basically.

I had a little milk hater, hated breast, breast milk from a bottle and later formula as well!! He was born on the 50th and went down to below the 9th before he finally started to pick up.

The mad thing is he just was not hungry even as a tiny tiny newborn. He slept all night from 16 weeks and would happily have 4 5oz bottles (on a bloody good day) in a 24 hour period, never cry or seem unsettled.

On a bad day I once had to syringe feed three ounces when he refused anything by 2pm, first bottle having been 7 am!

At 23 weeks when I was tearing my hair out with stress the HV said to start weaning and he adored food lol. He caught back to the 25th centile pretty quickly and has remained there. I don't care if he never goes any higher, he's not dropping anymore and he is thriving.

It was a shock as my first was the easiest feeder ever, born on the 50th, eventually moved to the 25th, still there at two and a half.
