I'm breastfeeding my 20month old 2-3times/day (sometimes more, sometimes less), and for the past few months have experienced painful feeding from around the time of ovulate until period starts - nipples are just really tender. I'm fairly sure my milk supply is less then too and she's feeding for longer which doesn't help. She is gentle, and stops if I ask her to (usually!). I'm not sure we are quite ready to stop as I work full time and she loves the comfort in the evenings but as its 2 weeks/month it is becoming more tempting to wean.
Has anyone found anything to help with this?
