back again! DD is complaining after 3 feeds within an hour?

I thought it was not possible to run out of milk?
She just seems so dis-satisfied. I have tried burping, to no avail. And have now fed 3 times since 8.30 , it's now 9.50. Don't want to resort to a bottle but what can I do if she is still hungry and I don't seem to have enough??
oh, she just burped.
I will try to put her down, see how she does.
She is screaming away but thats cos coming down here to type woke her entirely, I think I will leave her to shout for a bit??
Any advice?

Probably just lonely and wants something to suck...? Or having a growth spurt - I well remember those endless cluster feeds that went on for HOURS!

11 weeks.
Should I feed her in the bedroom where I normally give her evening feeds? I really felt I had nothing though, she began to refuse me again.
My Brother thinks I may need to use controlled crying? Leaving her didn't work earlier, DH interupted after 10 mins.
Now he has taken himself to bed. The same room DD and I need to be in!!
But we have no other bed.
How can I try controlled crying that way!!!!

She normally gets the dummy when she needs a suck but nothing is pleasing her tonight.

Way way too young for cc. I haven't seen your other posts, so don't know your whole story, but you are right that you can't run out of milk, and growth spurts are a nightmare, but they don't last long.

I think they have a growth spurt at 3 months so probably she is having to feed frequently to build up your milk supply...? That's how the baby increases the supply - frequent emptying of the breast boosts supply. It's wonderful how they know what to do!

TBH I am not a fan of controlled crying but in any case I wouldn't use it at 11 weeks.

My rule is that once DS is put to bed I don't take him out of the room. If he cries I feed him in there with the lights dim. Often he never properly wakes up, he just cries with his eyes shut, feeds with his eyes shut and then goes back to sleep straight away, it saves having to settle them again and the whole thing only takes about 10 minutes. Obviously depends on your baby but that approach worked for me.

Is this out of character for her mimpim, or a regular thing? If a one off, have you considered that she might have a headache (worse when she lies down) or be teething? Have you tried giving calpol or medised? Although I still think that a growth spurt is the most likely explanation at this age.

Don't use controlled crying if you think that your DD is crying because she needs something as, IME, it will simply not work.
I have also been told that milk cannot run out, however, I think it can flow so slowly that the baby gets very frustrated. This is made worse when I get tense, thus worrying that I am not producing milk becomes a self-fulfilling prophesy.

As your DP is in the bedroom, you could take your DD into the living room and turn off as many lights as possible and the tv. Burp her for a good 5-10 minutes and then snuggle up with her on the sofa and let her suck for as long as she wants. If she is acting really frustrated on one breast, you could swap her to the other as it will, most likely, give a faster flow of milk to begin with. Hopefully having a nice cuddle will calm her down enough for you to get her to bed once she is done suckling. It might also help if you lie down to feed her as you will both feel more relaxed and it is less annoying to have a baby camped out at your breast if you are lying down and comfortable.

Another thing that might calm her is if you lie her on her front over your knees and stroke/pat her back. When my DD went bonkers at this time of night (and I was sure she was not hungry) that would sometimes send her off to sleep. HTH.

Probably a growth spurt, don't use controlled crying, it's cruel on a baby that young. She is so tiny, you are all she knows, she needs cuddles, probably.

I really don't thiknk its a growth spurt, she was refusing milk and has fallen asleep in my arms twice but screamed when put in bed. I think it may be a headache BMTSG, she was snottery yesterday so it would make sense.
I will try her in bed again and if it doesn't work, it's out with the calpol.
This is completely not like her, hence my panic, so it must be that there is pain somewhere.

She may well be teething. Definitely too young for CC. If she's comforted by your presence, that's a good thing. You're her world atm x x x

Didn't get to give her the calpol but I did take my top off and wrap it around the top end of the cot, so I was still with her .
Just mad at DH now for doing absolutely nothing! When I went up there he was so sound asleep he began talking nonsense in his sleep at the disturbance.
Though he did offer help earlier and I refused it, I would have liked some back up rather than being shouted at when I left her to shout for a bit and then a disappearing act.
I know, I am probably being unreasonable, if he offered and I refused it, what else was he to do? But I am sounding off anyway!
