What fresh hell is this?

I'm bf 8mo twins; nipples are burning but look normal, entire right breast feels like it's on fire actually. Both breasts are v. red like sunburn in patches bigger than palm of my hand slightly hot to touch, white blotches apparent when skin stretched (Thanks DDs). Not engorged at all; if anything feeling a bit deflated.

I've had mastitis/ blocked ducts before and this feels different; there's a deep painful firey itch which is keeping me awake. Will try and get gp's appointment tomorrow but any ideas/ advice

Thrush maybe?

Could be thrush. If it is the twins will need treating too, otherwise you'll just keep reinfecting each other. Check their mouths - any white patches on tongue, cheeks or gums?

Sounds like thrush to me.

I'd get checked out for thrush. I had it with ds and it felt like my boobs were filling with boiling water. You have my sympathies op, it was horrid.
