stopping breastfeeding after 15 months

I've just stopped breastfeeding my twins (aged 15.5 months) and in need of a bit of support/advice/shared experiences please.

I'm feeling so emotional about it, even though deep down I know it's the right thing to do for us. In an ideal world they would have self weaned but they were showing no signs at all so I cut out the day feed a few weeks ago and it actually went quite well.

I was still feeding them at night 3-4 times each and I felt I couldn't continue or cut back so we ended up doing it cold turkey, with our last feed Thursday night.

So now my boobs are enormous, rock solid and SO sore. How long will this last for? I breastfed my DD1 for 15 months also but she gradually cut down herself so I didn't have this problem.

Please tell me there is light at the end of the tunnel?! My girls will be ok, and I'll feel back to normal soon, right?

Sorry for the epic post, thanks for reading if you got this far!
