well i'm but also that we have made it to 9.5 months (all be it mixed fed for the last 2 months) but it's all thanks to MNetters so keeping em going at the start when I thought I couldn't manage it any more!

I just have one final question thou, how long will it be before the milk drys up/I feel ok in my boobs? at the minute they're heavy and starting to get harder (I didn't feed yesterday or today at all - last feed 6.45 weds night)

as I say i'm the boy won't have them and in effect doesn't rely/need me as much any more but also very that I did actually manage to do it and be so successful. not sure yet if I will regreat stopping so soon or not thou??

Well done you. Depends how often you had been feeding as to how long it will take for milk to go. If you were down to one feed a day you should find that by a couple of weeks your breasts will feel fairly normal. However, if you squeeze to see if the milk is still there it can remain for months. Initially your breasts become pretty floppy and 'empty' looking but then the fat is laid down again. They will return to pre-pregnancy state but that can take a long time

thanks mears - is it normal for them to push you away a bit to start with? i've felt quite rejected by him today as he's not been as cuddly

he's literally been having 5 mins max each side once a day - v odd occazssion he's had 2 during the day but no more.

is there any relation on quickness of milk v how much you actually had in there when you stopped? also feeling worse aboutt he fact he doens't really seem anymore settled on fully formula - althou glad i've stuck it out when DH was telling me he'd settle more on formual iycwim.

I don't think that it means anything TBH. When you wean down to one feed a day, it is easy to stop without any trouble. He probably isn't less cuddly you know - you will just be watching for signs of less dependence. Breastfeeding is such a connection, you miss it when it stops. I still miss it and I stopped 12 years ago!

glad that's not just me then! lol. in some respects he seems clingier - when he wants a cuddle etc but then if I want one he's pushing me away I loved the closeness BF brought.

i've been weaning him down with a view to stop! lol - it's jsut taken 3 months to stop as I didn't feel quite ready to before.
