My ds has slowly been rejecting one side to feed on. This is because one side had a very fast let down and he would gulp a feed down in 5 minutes and the other side was very slow and he would take 20 minutes.

Ironically it is the slow side he has now completely rejected. I say ironically as this was his preferred side up until about a month ago.

Although I have really persisted he now completeley refuses it and this side seems to have more or less stopped producing any milk. I have no engorgement on this side and I can hardly express anything.

He is 6 months and I had hoped to carry on feeding him for a while. He is now getting all his feeds from the fast side and is happy, but I am now really lopsided with the breast he feeds off being probably 2 sizes bigger than the other.

I did read on kellysmom that it will go back to its normal size - but will it????? Has anyone else had this occur and did your breasts even up again? I already have strech marks and saggy skin I don't think I can face really different sized breasts as well!(they were never a perfect match but it shows in clothes now)

Hi pixiepoo,
We went through something similar a couple of months ago, but DS now feeds from the not favoured breast as well as the other, so maybe not quite the same situation?
Anyway I have 2 very different sized breasts now.

Have you tried expressing, pixiepoo?

My DS2 rejected one side too (slow to let down also). He is older though. I did have vastly different sized boobs, but they do actually seem to have evened up even though I am only feeding from one side now.
He is 16 months almost, and I am only feeding him twice maybe 3 times a day.
I'm sorry that I don't have any suggestions about getting your LO to feed both sides. I can never understand how someone so small & new can form opinions on which boob is best

hi there, I have said before on sim' threads that I fed dd for 3.5 years with one boob!!!!
Mine are now now even again - (wasn't convinced that they ever would be & it did take a while, but got there in the end.
Not exactly sure what happens when you stop bf but they felt a bit empty for a while afterwards, but have now 'plumped back up'.
I was told that if I'd got dd to persist with slower side they would have evened out again too.

thanks, that's reassuring as I do want to carry on feeding him.
