Help - dd won't take bottle from dp

My dd is 5 months old and I've been mixed feeding for 2 months - 4 breastfeeds during day and 1 bottle feed at bedtime (6.45pm). My dp was giving nearly all the bottle feeds unless he was late from work in order to give me a break and to spend some time exclusively with her. However for the past week, she gets fussy when he gives her the bottle. She starts out fine but starts crting and rejecting bottle halfway through. In the end I give it to her so that she will take all of bottle which seems more important to me than who gives it her.

She never used to be like this - the only 2 things I can think of that are different is that she has been constipated for about a week (has had a few bowel movements but not as regular as usual) and prior to the fussiness I had been giving her the bottle myself 3 out of 7 nights as dp had been late.

Any ideas on how to turn this around? My dp is quite a sensitive man and is a bit upset about it. I also valued the break! Thanks in advance!!

Are you hovering while he does this?
I would leave the room, nay, leave the house.

I don't hover, I leave the room. I only come in when she is properly upset - crying for over 5 mins. Do you think I should try some 'tough love'...?

With moondog on this, while you are there baby still sees you as an option!

Yes,go for a walk.

Hmm but if she won't take the bottle with him, it will disrupt her otherwise beautiful bedtime routine (ie settling immediately and sleeping for 11-12 hours). Guess I'll just have to live with that for a few days.
