2 quick questions about teats

DS is moving on to size 2 teats... Do I really have to throw away these size 1s? Seems like such a waste, can't I put them away, then when the time comes wash, boil, sterilise them and use them for the next DC?? Confused

Also does anyone know if I can use the normal tommee tippee closer to nature teats (with the square vent thing) in their anti-colic bottles? We use a mixture of normal and anti colic bottles so would be simplest if we could just use 1 kind of tear across the board.

The rubber breaks down over time so would be unsafe to use for subsequent babies.

I used Closer to Nature bottles but not the fancy anti-colic ones and I know you can't put the anti-colic teats in the regular bottles but I have no idea why and I don't know whether you can mix them the other way round.

Try the vary flow teats means you won't have to then change from 2 to 3 in the future.
We did keep the teats from DD1 but when I unpacked everything ready for DD2 the teats had gone an orange colour so I wouldn't recommend hanging on to them.

Oooooh kay, so they degrade even if not in use! I didn't realise, I thought it was just if they'd been chewed or whatever.

I stocked up on variflow so last week but DS has an even worse time on those and can't control the flow. With 2s he is leaky but nowhere near as bad as the variflows! You can hear the gulps of air moving through his tummy poor thing!
