Can anyone give any advice on how to get my 9 week old on to a bottle? She won't take any bottle. She either gags or pushes it out with her tongue. She does the same with a dummy.
We have having lots of bf issues, poor latch (she recently had her tongue tie cut), foremilk hind milk imbalance, fast letdown, a very windy baby, crying, pulling off when feeding and feeding every two hours!
Am keen to get her on a bottle, expressed milk to start with, to try and calm things down and to give me a break. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks

We had problems getting dd to take a bottle and we tried;
-Daddy giving it- this was a biggie, she just didn't want it if I was there.
-Different temperatures- warm (really quite warm) worked for us.
-Powder or cartons- powder was refused.
-Time of day-we gave her it at 10 ish, mainly as we want this to be her bedtime feed but also because she was sleepy and not starving.
-Perseverance- it took two weeks at least of trying every night.

A combination of all of the above helped her take it at first but now she's got used to it she'll have the powdered milk and she'll take it from me.

Hi Mam anti colic bottles and teats worked for us, have you tried them?

NickyEds · 06/10/2015 13:02

Innosense by Mothercare- they have a funny shaped teat that looked more like my saggy old boob than the others!!

Sorry about the powder/carton thing above-just re read the op and saw you're looking to do ebm[blush[. If only you could get it in cartonsSmile!!
