Ds2 is almost 15 weeks now and still BF incredibly regularly. Anywhere between 1-2 hours is the norm and about every 2 hrs overnight. Length of feeds anywhere 5mins to about 30mins. I am exhausted! He is gaining weight but quite slowly, otherwise healthy and very active. My boobs fill up by 2hrs.
My health visitor suggested giving two bottle sof formula a day incase my milk supply was not quite enough and to try and get a longer gap at bedtime. I decided to do one bottle first, he has been taking 2-4oz at 10pm for 2 wks now but still waking after 2hrs no matter how much he has consumed!

Several people told me once they are 5kg /3mo it will improve... Hasn't for us yet.

Grr.

Any advice?? Anyone else had this and it got better.

My LO would have fed 24/7 if allowed! It did get easier as he got older as you could distract him with toys for a little while and then when he got to feed he would have longer feeds less often. You're doing really well, it's completely exhausting but it does get better. Can someone else do the 10pm bottle so that you could get a few hours sleep in the evening? Good luck :)

Both of my babies have fed regularly - every couple of hours. #2 is five months now and still feeds every 3 hours overnight and every couple of hours during the day. I've got no supply issues, they just like to fed little and often.

They do grow out of it, but it might not be until six months plus when they're established on solids.

It's exhausting, but I have a cup of tea or a drink of water every hour so I guess it's not unreasonable for babies to feed at similar intervals. It is exhausting, but for such a short time.

No real help or advice though - sorry!

For me the turning point was around 18 weeks both times, both my DS'es went from 1-2 hourly to 3-4 hourly overnight - I think their stomach grows bigger around 4 months so they can fill up for longer.

Mine is like this at the same age. Seems an odd suggestion that you may not have enough milk - I thought the baby feeding stimulated milk as needed but if the bottles are helping you rest, go for it.

Very odd advice from your hv! Breast milk is produced on a supply-and-demand system. The more your baby feeds, the more you'll produce. Some babies just feed more/ more frequently. Also boobs don't 'fill up' - think of it like a river, with a constant flow, rather than a pond, which fills up and empties!
